Make sure hardware DEP is working on your Windows OS.

Type this text on cmd.exe command prompt:

wmic OS Get DataExecutionPrevention_Available

Example output:

C:\>wmic OS Get DataExecutionPrevention_Available
DataExecutionPrevention_Available
TRUE

Type this text to determine the current DEP support policy:

wmic OS Get DataExecutionPrevention_SupportPolicy

Example output:

C:\>wmic OS Get DataExecutionPrevention_SupportPolicy
DataExecutionPrevention_SupportPolicy
2

The returned number means:

0 = DEP is not enabled for any processes (AlwaysOff)
1 = DEP is enabled for all processes (AlwaysOn)
2 = DEP is applied only to Windows processes (OptIn – Default)
3 = DEP is enabled for all processes (OptOut)
