Start the virtual machine and edit the file:

/etc/network/interfaces

Make sure its content is same as this (change the needed fields):

# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface
allow-hotplug eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address IP.FAIL.OVER
netmask 255.255.255.255
#broadcast IP.FAIL.OVER

post-up route add IP_MAIN_DEDICATED_SERVER.254 dev eth0
post-up route add default gw IP_MAIN_DEDICATED_SERVER.254
post-down route del IP_MAIN_DEDICATED_SERVER.254 dev eth0
post-down route del default gw IP_MAIN_DEDICATED_SERVER.254

# dns-* options are implemented by the resolvconf package, if installed
dns-nameservers 213.186.33.99
dns-search ovh.net

Save the changes and reboot the virtual machine:

shutdown -r now

If you try to wget google.com and you receive this error:

wget: unable to resolve host address google.com

Follow these steps to properly configure the name servers:

wget: unable to resolve host address google.com
