Go to Citrix XenServer 6.2.0 Knowledge Center URL.

xen-updates

We will try to install this XenServer hotfix:

Hotfix XS62ESP1002 - For XenServer 6.2.0 Service Pack 1

Go to the hotfix URL: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX140051

Move with the mouse over the download button and capture the download URL:

http://downloadns.citrix.com.edgesuite.net/8737/XS62ESP1002.zip

Then login with SSH to your XenServer host, move to the root directory and type:

wget http://downloadns.citrix.com.edgesuite.net/8737/XS62ESP1002.zip
unzip -qq XS62ESP1002.zip
xe patch-upload file-name=XS62ESP1002.xsupdate

You should see a text printed in the command prompt, it is the Patch UUID:

xen-patch-upload-uuid

Now we need to find the Host UUID, open the XenCenter and select the XenServer host.

Go to General tab and save the UUID:

xen-host-uuid-xencenter

Or type this in the command prompt:

xe host-list --minimal

At this point, we are ready to install the patch, type this:

xe patch-apply uuid=%PATCH_UUID% host-uuid=%HOST_UUID%

Example:

xe patch-apply uuid=297f2f77-5603-4aaf-9e56-db49512d4592 host-uuid=12345678-0000-0000-0000-012345678901

You should see this as output:

xen-server-hotfix-installed

Now you should reboot the XenServer host for the changes to take effect.
